Weekly Announcements

The January-February Mission Offerings will benefit the Washington City Mission, a Christian rehabilitation shelter in Washington PA that serves the homeless and others who need help. The Mission provides food, clothing, shelter, medical assistance, counseling, and job training to restore a person’s dignity and self-respect to help them return to mainstream society.  Make checks payable to Trinity UMC with a notation on the memo line for the Washington City Mission.

2012 Offering Envelopes are available on the table in the Welcome Center.    If you have questions, contact our Financial Secretary, Carol Anderson.

Lenten Devotional: Share a favorite reflection, scripture verse or story to be included in Trinity's Lenten Devotional, which will be distributed February 19. E-mail your piece to Eileenglass2@verizon.net or bring a hard copy to Eileen in the church office by Feb. 5.

You are invited to the United Methodist Women's  VALENTINE SOCIAL on Sunday, February 12 at 12:30 pm  in the Welcome CenterBring your daughters and granddaughters.  A light lunch will be served.  Bring a "Valentine Gift  of Food"  for the Food Pantry.  Following lunch, we will make Valentine tokens for the clients of the Food Pantry.  Let’s have a good time while we connect to missions.

The Peters Township Food Pantry is VERY low on food at this time of year. There is an URGENT NEED for all kinds of food as well as personal care products. Let's not forget those who struggle each day to feed and care for their families. If possible, bring something in for our Food Pantry each Sunday in December and January.  We also need to keep those who are less fortunate in our prayers.  Monetary donations and other non-perishable items are always welcome. Place items in the food pantry box in the Welcome Center.

HELP WANTED:  WORSHIP LEADERS FOR BOTH SERVICES

Do you have the gift of hospitality? Do you want to serve God and your church? Then, you're just the right person to be a Worship Leader.

Job Description: Welcome the congregation, announce the collection of tithes and offerings, pray for these gifts (there are numerous written prayers you can use or you can use your own prayer), and, occasionally, read a scripture lesson. At the 9:30 service, you would do a brief opening prayer during the welcome, and at 11:30 you would lead the congregation in opening prayers found in the bulletin. Depending on the number of Worship Leaders there are, you should only have to do this once every 2 or 3 months.

Did God or a friend just whisper in your ear, "You can do that." Then, give me a call or e-mail: Mary Agnew  724-745-0296 or mlagnew5890@gmail. com.

The ADULT FINDERS SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will begin a study of Eugene Peterson’s book, The Jesus Way, on February 12 at 8:30 am. This book teaches us to be attentive as Peterson notices deeply the structures and colors, the contexts and nuances of texts in order to shape us into people who follow on the Jesus way in Jesus’ way. The Jesus Way evokes and provokes, and then seduces us into considering the Bible anew. If you would like to join this weekly study, please contact Jay Wysocki (jaywysocki@yahoo.com).

FRIENDS TOGETHER is an opportunity to visit with women of all agewho meet in the WelcomeCenter on Fridays from 10 to 11:30 am.  The February discussion series is: Christianity’s Family Tree and the I Love Lucy & Bonanza TV Shows. Come when your schedule allows for refreshing conversation and uplifting support for all.  Nicki Vance, a certified, experienced professional teacher will provide loving care and activities for the preschooler.

The sale of Giant Eagle Gift Cards continues at Trinity.  Trinity earns 5% of the price of each card sold as a fundraiser for the Find Us Faithful building program.
